    Frequently asked questions

    What metadata does this remove?

    Anything embedded that isn't the pixels themselves — the camera you used, lens settings, dates, GPS coordinates, software notes and thumbnails. All of it is dropped during re-encoding.

    Will my photos lose quality?

    No. The pixels are kept and only the extra data is discarded. At the default 92% quality the image looks identical to the original.

    How do I check the result?

    Download the cleaned copy of your own test photo, then open it in any photo viewer — GPS and camera info are gone. On Windows, right-click the file and open Properties > Details to see the empty fields.

    Why does PNG lose more size than JPEG?

    PNG files sometimes embed long metadata or color profiles, which this tool removes. The visible part stays exactly the same — you're only trimming the fat.

    Are my photos uploaded?

    Never. Everything happens locally in your browser, so the images you clean never leave your device.
